Ny Alesund portfolio The World's most northerly permanent settlement, Ny Alesund is a research station with houses attached. As the main focus here is atmospheric and climatic studies so it is important that high environmental standards are maintained. The population ranges from 50 in winter to up to 200 during the summer.

Magdalenefjord portfolio Magdalenefjord, a few miles south of the magical 80 degrees N., is rimmed by mountains of gneiss and migmatite. At the head of the fjord is a well-formed tidewater glacier where icebergs are shed directly into the sea.
